Kathmandu, Aug 6: The US Senate has approved the name of senior diplomat Alaina B Teplitz as the Ambassador of the US to Nepal.
The Senate meeting on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Teplitz, a career diplomat, as the US ambassador to Nepal, the US State Department said.
Ms Teplitz, who entered US foreign service 24 years ago, holds a post-graduate from the Georgetown University.
The new ambassador designate Teplitz has already served in Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Belgium, Australia and Albania.
Incumbent US ambassador to Nepal Peter W Bodde will soon be accomplishing his term in office. RSS
